If you update the data in your underlying Excel table, you can tell Excel to update the pivot table information.
If the location of your external data source changed—for example, your SQL Server database name is the same, but it's been moved to a different server, or your Access database has been moved to another network share—you can change your current connection.Make sure that there is a heading in every column, and no rows that are completely blank. In the screen shot below, In Excel 2007 and later versions, you can format your list as a Named Table, and use that as the dynamic source for your Pivot Table.Once you have the dynamic range set up, you can create a pivot table, based on that range.Refresh | Change Data Source Any changes you make to the data set are not automatically picked up by the pivot table.
